Qu'est ce que tu fais à Low, sérieusement?
Ha! Oh on me pose cette question comme tout le temps. Quiconque a visité la ferme comprend, sans avoir échangé aucun mot, le pourquoi. Quelle beauté cet endroit magique.
L A V I S I O N
Le cheminement pour acheter un terrain n'est pas facile. Je suis très reconnaissant à ma famille et à mon système de soutien de m'avoir aidé à me rendre à cette place en juillet 2017. Travailler presque toutes les heures de veille pendant ma vingtaine avec parfois 3 emplois en même temps en vaut la peine, maintenant.
Ma vision était assez claire, depuis mon plus jeune âge, peut-être 16 ans, que je voulais créer une vie unique pour moi et ma future famille. Ayant beaucoup trop de feu (Pitta en Ayurveda), cette passion est la raison pour laquelle je suis ici aujourd'hui. Passer beaucoup de temps dans le monde du bine être et de yoga à étudier, apprendre, voyager et travailler en e*ti. C'est ainsi que mon amour pour la cuisine s'est lié au style de vie dont je rêvais. Je portais une grande attention aux ingrédients entrant dans mon corps. Se soucier de la provenance de ma nourriture. A-il été pulvérisé avec des pesticides? Vous savez, prendre ma santé en main. Et honnêtement être énervé par ce qui se passe dans le monde, les produits pharmaceutiques et le Roundup...
Est-ce quelque chose à quoi quelqu'un d'autre peut s'identifier? Alors je suis parti et j'ai commencé à faire du bénévolat dans des fermes un peu partout. À Mont-Tremblant, Qc outre-mer au Portugal et chez nous à Wakefield, Qc. Ce mode de vie a fait battre mon cœur. Mon corps si fatigué de travailler la terre se mêlait à la joie de la communauté entourant la récolte. Art. L'amour des petites entreprises et une certaine ingéniosité sérieuse. Partout où je suis allé, la pensée derrière une idée m'a toujours rendu vraiment redevable à ces propriétaires.
Mon petit esprit d'entrepreneure allait. Essayer de comprendre comment réaliser ce rêve, un jour, un jour.
L E C O N C E P T
Alors, soyons réalistes pendant une minute, je suis totalement une "workaholic", avec plus d'équilibre maintenant. Il est probable que quiconque possède une forme ou une autre de petite entreprise l'est, d'une manière ou d'une autre. J'ai commencé à développer mon entreprise de design indépendante Créations Flourish parce que je savais que cela me soutiendrait financièrement. Avoir un véritable amour pour le design, une pensée créative et une bonne éthique de travail. Ensuite, j'ai vraiment trouvé que j'étais le plus efficace dans la nature, seul et au plus près de la nature. Je sais que cela semble étrange parce que vous avez besoin du wifi pour fonctionner, mais c'est l'environnement dont j'avais envie. C'était ma structure. Quand j'ai acheté le terrain, c'est exactement ce que nous avons fait. Construit un petit bureau minuscule dans les champs pour créer des marques, réfléchir à des stratégies et créer des sites Web. Merci à tout mon entourage fabuleux qui m'a aidé à y parvenir et les voisins qui m'ont prêté leur équipement bien sûr!
Pour la ferme, il y avait de nombreuses fermes maraîchères, alors je voulais essayer quelque chose de différent. Ensuite, j'ai pensé à la bière artisanale et à la façon dont c'est un mélange d'agriculture, d'artisanat, de bon design et l'agrotourisme bien sûr! J'ai donc pensé que cela pourrait être une opportunité vraiment cool pour ici. Créez un espace où les gens peuvent venir profiter de ce style de vie que beaucoup aiment voir. J'essaierai de créer ça un jour.
B I E N S E N O U R R I R
Pour faire pousser des légumes, vous avez vraiment besoin d'un système écologique solide. Cette terre n'a pas été travaillée depuis un certain temps et était auparavant du foin et du pâturage, il fallait donc beaucoup d'amour pour que le jardin ait moins de mauvaises herbes et augmente les nutriments dans le sol. J'ai vraiment aimé élever des poulets, pour les œufs et pour la viande. Donc, pour l'instant, c'est ce que nous proposons jusqu'à ce que le houblon soit installé et la brasserie un jour aussi. Nous faisons paître les oiseaux pour qu'ils puissent faire caca partout et préparons l'houblonhière à houblon pour la plantation en 2021.
P O U R L A M A I S O N
Vous trouverez également une sélection très soignée de plantes d'intérieur, qui sont cultivées dans un environnement à petite échelle avec des articles sélectionnés fabriqués par des artisans de la région.
Je me soucie beaucoup de réduire le plastique et de maintenir une maison saine afin que ces trouvailles durables soient également ajoutées à cette boutique.
L'art est une grande partie de ma vie créative, donc vous en verrez des clein d'oeil dans tout ce que je fais.
J'espère que cela fait du sens. Low est incroyable, j'aime tout le monde ici, la communauté est fantastique et on est proche d'Ottawa. Non pas que nous ayons besoin d'aller en ville si souvent ;)
